HUD has just announced that the $100 Down Payment Program will be discontinued in Texas on November 30, 2012. Any contract executed on or before November 30th will still be eligible for the program. This means offers that have been accepted, but not executed by then are not eligible. The $100 Down Payment Program has been in effect since October 2011. It permits owner-occupants who purchase a HUD home at full price using FHA financing to lower their down payment for $100. Buyers will now need to put down at least 3.5%.
If you have any questions about HUD Homes, I am happy to help. As a HUD listing broker, I know a lot more about the process than most other agents (in fact, I teach a class each month to other agents about how to help their clients buy HUD Homes). While you can use most any real estate agent to buy a HUD home, why settle just any one, when you can have the agent who teaches other agents?
