What is a Syndicate?

What is a real estate syndicate?  It’s a way to invest in real estate, but not many people have heard about it.  A syndicate allows investors to pool their money to purchase real estate in a way that most could not afford to do on their own.  For example, building a 200-unit apartment complex, construct a hotel, or developing a residential subdivision.  But by pooling together as a syndicate, individuals can own a share of these projects.  In order to invest in a syndicate, the government requires that you be an “accredited investor” which means you have a net worth of at least $1 million excluding your primary residence or you have an annual income for at least two years that exceeds $200,000 for an individual or $300,000 for a couple.  While I don’t lead syndicates, I can certainly refer you to one if you are interested in learning more.
