Rat House

There were up to 100 rats in the house.  But I’m getting ahead of myself.  I was hired to sell a home in Austin that an out-of-town owner had inherited.  The house had been vacant for a while.  I was in the house by myself and caught something out of the corner of my eye.  Wasn’t sure what it was.  A short time later, it happened again – a little blur along the ground.  As I continued my way around the house, I saw a few holes in the walls that looked like they had been chewed open.  Yep, there were rats in the house.  The critter company we hired to remove them estimated there were between 50 and 100 of them.  And they reproduce fast.  It took a little over a month, but we eventually got all the rats out of that house, put it on the market, and got it sold.  I’d be quite content if this house forever holds the record for me as the house I’ve handled with the most rats.
