Pet Peeve: Bad MLS Photos

I’ve got a lot of pet peeves in real estate.  One of them is bad property photos.  But it’s more than a pet peeve – it’s a general puzzlement.  How does someone who purports to be a real estate professional use bad photos to market a home?  Spend $500 and hire a professional photographer.  But, no, some agents take vertical photos on their phone with bad lighting.  These same agents often don’t bother to closet a toilet lid, turn off a TV, remove a dog, and make sure the sink isn’t full of dirty dishes.  But beyond the agent, I’m shocked that their client sees these photos and accepts it.  Let me give you a bit of unsolicited advice, in my experience, if an agent uses bad photos, they probably aren’t a very successful agent.
