National Association of Realtors is Arrogant

The National Association of Realtors is arrogant.  That was a recent quote from Dave Liniger, Chairman and co-founder of RE/MAX.  I wholeheartedly agree.  I’ve not mentioned the NAR lawsuits in these videos, because 1 minute is not enough time. But it is enough time to let you know that the vast majority of NAR members belong because we are forced to.  Almost all MLS systems in the US are owned by the local board of Realtors.  To have access to the MLS, the lifeblood of my industry, you must be a member of the local board of Realtors. And because of rules set by NAR, to be a member of the local board, you must also join at the state and national levels.  NAR is a bloated bureaucracy that lost touch with its members years ago. I’ve found them irrelevant since the day I got into this industry almost 25 years ago and my mind has never changed. So I can assure you that many members of NAR are rooting for its demise as much as the attorneys who are suing it.
