Nate Paul

Nate Paul was a shooting star.  In the world of Austin commercial real estate, Nate Paul is a name everyone knows.  He started a company called World Class Properties in 2007 when he was just 19 years old.  By 2017, his company owned 19 office buildings, 24 retail properties, 5 prime developable parcels, and over 70 self storage facilities.  He claimed it was over 9 million square feet of space across 16 states.  But it wasn’t all that it seemed.  By 2018, cracks were starting to show.  Over the past few years, properties were foreclosed upon, lawsuits piled up, the FBI raided his offices, and many of his subsidiaries filed for bankruptcy.  Paul was recently indicted on charges that he provided false and counterfeit documents to lenders as he built his empire.  As he was taking this town by storm, an Austin attorney pondered if he was a rising star or a shooting star.  Yeah, we got the answer to that.  It will be interesting to see how this continues to play out.
