A Memorable Home
Many homes have outdated design elements but some have so much more. Watch the video to find out what was so memorable or read the text below the video.
Greetings. I’ve been inside a lot of homes over the years. Many are forgettable. Then there are some classics, like the house that was a true time capsule. It was probably 15 years ago that I showed a home that was built in the late 1960s – and nothing had been updated. Each bedroom had a different color of shag carpet – the standard colors of the time: green, gold, pink, and orangish. The kitchen had vinyl floors and green formica counters. I kid you not that every appliance was original except for the microwave from the 80s that sat on the green counter. Most of the walls had wallpaper including the shiny reflective kind in a few rooms. But perhaps my favorite part was the air return vents because they too had wallpaper on them so they would blend into the wall. Each fin of the return had painstakingly had the wallpaper applied to it. It truly was a work of art. Anyway, my clients didn’t buy it, but I remember it well. I’m Craig Smyser with 1835 Realty.
