Iris and Marshall

There are some clients who hold a special place.  Iris and Marshall are two of them.  I didn’t know them when they invited me to talk about selling their home.  I’d estimate they were in their early 70s and seemed to be in good health.  You could tell they were just as in love as the day they got married.  But I soon discovered that Iris had cancer, so they wanted to move closer to their kids and grandkids.  As I worked with them, I learned they were very curious people, always wanting to learn, they were well read, and loved tending their gardens.  Iris especially was one of those people who just lit up a room when she walked in.  We were selling at a time when the market wasn’t great, so after it didn’t sell right away, we leased it.  A year later, we relisted the house and sold it.  Sadly, Iris didn’t live that long.  But Marshall told me she so enjoyed her last year being close by her family.
