If you'd prefer to read about Volente Beach, the transcript can be found below the video.

Greetings!  I’m Craig Smyser with 1835 Realty.  Located just a few miles outside the Austin city limits is a warm weather escape along the shores of Lake Travis.  We’re going to visit Volente Beach Resort and Waterpark on this episode of Discover Austin.

Situated on five acres, Volente Beach is a locally owned business.  It’s best known for its waterslides, but there’s also a pool, kids pool area, volleyball, game area, dining, overnight accommodations, a beach, and a private swim area in Lake Travis.

The waterpark features four slides:  The Flash Flood, the Roadrunner, the Texas Twister, and the Sidewinder.  The Pirate Ship is a great water area for the little kids while Gators Crossing is good for those who are a bit older.  If you’d like to stay dry for a bit, take some time to play volleyball, washers, or the game known by all kinds of names – cornhole, bean bag toss, or simply bags.

Beachside Billy’s is the main restaurant at Volente Beach.  It’s open year-round and provides a very relaxing atmosphere.  The menu includes burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and even entrees.  Blu’s Beach Bar is a great spot to grab a quick drink.  For those out boating on Lake Travis, they have a courtesy dock so you can pull right up.  There’s also the Beach Burgers & BBQ Trailer serving up burgers and chopped beef sandwiches.

There are many special events at Volente Beach, too.  One of the most popular is Jaws on the Water in which you’ll watch the classic movie on a big screen while floating on a tube in Lake Travis.  They’ve often got live music, special dinners, and other special promotions.

Want to head out onto Lake Travis?  Volente Beach has a party barge available for private cruises.  Jet skis and boat rentals are available just steps away at a neighboring marina.

If you’d like to stay the night or make a weekend out of it, then stay at one of the eight Bungalows.  For a larger group, there’s also the Lake House, which sleeps 12.  When you stay in one of these accommodations, admission to the water park is included.

Volente Beach traces its roots back to the 1950s when it was a restaurant known as the Sea Island Inn.  In the 1990s, the restaurant was expanded.  Then, in 1998, the waterpark, beach, and pools were added, making it what is now recognizable as Volente Beach.  The current owners purchased it in late 2017 and have been improving it ever since.

Volente Beach Resort and Waterpark is a great combination of amenities in one place along the shore of Lake Travis.  So grab your swimsuit and towel, then head out for some fun!   I’m Craig Smyser with 1835 Realty, thanks for joining me for this episode of Discover Austin.  And remember, when you’re ready to buy or sell a home in Central Texas, I’m ready to help.
