Did I Miss The Frenzy
The chaos we saw in the early part of 2021, at the time, seemed like it would be short-lived. Mostly because it seemed impossible for prices to continue to rise at the rate they were. But, the early part of 2022, is looking much the same.
I currently describe the Austin real estate market as frenzied. Just like the first few months of last year, the number of offers on listings is very high and prices are moving up rapidly. I expect, like last year, it will calm down a bit in April. It’s still going to be strong for sellers, but not the frenzy. Many sellers last year were concerned they missed the best time to sell, but I disagreed then and I disagree now. Yeah, when it slows, you might only get a couple of offers, but the prices did not come down last year when this happened and I don’t expect them to come down when it happens this year, either. So while not participating in the frenzy last year, sellers last year were still able to get the benefits of the frenzy. I expect the same to happen this year. I’m Craig Smyser with 1835 Realty.
