Build New or Buy Resale?

I'm often asked, "Should I Buy A Resale Home Or Build A New Home?"  So, let's go over the pros and cons about building a house vs buying resale.  If you'd prefer to read the the transcript, it can be found below the video.

Greetings.  A common question I’m asked is whether it is better to buy new construction or resale.  But it’s not a question I can answer because there is no definitive answer.  It’s a personal choice depending upon your circumstances and preferences.  Personally, I’ve done it all at some point as my wife and I have built from scratch, purchased inventory new construction, and bought resale.  Each time our circumstances were different and our choice was based on what was right in each scenario.  Do you have time to build a home from scratch?  Is new construction available in your desired area?  Are you looking for a fixer-upper to build some sweat equity?  Do you want to have mature trees?  These are just some of the questions to ask when you begin the process.  I think the biggest thing is to keep your options open until you start to get a grasp on what you are really looking for in a home then you can start to hone in based on that.  I’m Craig Smyser with 1835 Realty.
