May 2019 Home Sale Data – Austin
The metro area of Austin had strong sales in May with resale homes up 5.7%, accompanied by a 5.4% jump in the median price of a resale home. Now, if you look only at the City of Austin, the median price of a home hit an all-time high at $407,400 in May, caused in large part by shrinking inventory levels. Vintage Austin: Seaholm Power Plant
Today, the Seaholm Power Plant serves as commercial space but during the 1950s it was the sole provider of electric power for Austin. As the city grew, Seaholm couldn’t keep up with the demand for electric power so other stations were built around town. In 1989, Seaholm no longer provided power and in 1996 closed entirely.
