March 2019 Home Sale Data – Austin
Resale homes in the Austin area dropped 6.9% in March 2019 compared to the same time period in 2018. The area is also experiencing lower than usual inventory levels (4.8% fewer new listings in March) for this time of year which is likely a factor in the slow down. Low inventory will also be a contributor to the 4.7% increase in the median price of a resale home. If I can offer just one piece of advice, it is simply to make sure you have, at a minimum, a will. Vintage Austin: Downtown From Above
This Vintage Austin photo from January 1963 is a great shot of downtown Austin from above. In it you can see several recognizable landmarks. Included are the Capitol, the UT Tower, Texas Memorial Stadium, a little bit of the Congress Avenue bridge, and the start of construction for the Crest Inn (also seen in a previous Vintage Austin post).
