May 2017 Home Sale Data – Texas & U.S.

More homes sold for higher prices both in Texas and across the U.S.  The major difference in the stats is the number of homes available for sale.  The U.S. is experiencing lower inventory while Texas (Austin included) has more homes available for sale compared to a year ago.  You will find more monthly statistics and year-to-date figures below.  You can also see Austin stats here.  Is the local market performing in the same manner as the rest of Texas and the U.S.? May 2017 Home Sales – Austin

May 2017 sold 2.3% more homes than May 2016.  For resale homes, this is the largest month-over-month increase we've seen in 2017.  When comparing on a year-to-date basis, 2017 falls short of 2016 by just 65 homes (0.6%).  The new construction homes sold so far in 2017 help to outpace 2016 by 0.3% (41 homes).  You will find more monthly and year-to-date statistics below.  Also, you can find statewide and national sales information here.
