Steiner Ranch Storage Unit Facility Petition
I recently wrote about the proposed climate controlled storage unit facility in Steiner Ranch at the southeast corner of Quinlan Park and 620 (read it here). While the City of Austin Environmental Department is looking favorably on granting a variance for a road to cross the Critical Water Quality Zone (CWQZ) to access the property, the public hearing has not yet occurred. It is slated for Tuesday, October 18 at 6:00pm at City Hall.
Local resident Carla George alerted me to a document that residents can use to voice opposition or support for this variance. It is a pretty self-explanatory document. Simply mark "I am in favor" if you want the variance issued allowing construction of a road across the CWQZ or mark "I object" if you do not want the variance issued, thus preventing the road from being built.
The form can be faxed to the case manager, Don Perryman, at 512-974-3010. Please fax prior to 3:00pm on Tuesday, October 18.
If you mark "I object," Carla will be happy to take your form with her when she attends the public hearing on October 18. Carla has also provided me with a map of the area in question as well as the notice she received.
