Almost everyone waits for the water to get hot before stepping into the shower.  Few people time it just right to step in precisely when the hot water starts flowing.  Well, someone has figured out how to keep all of that hot water (and money) from going down the drain.  The folks at ShowerStart have invented a product (patent-pending) called the "evolve showerhead" which turns the flow down to a trickle when the water reaches 95 degrees.  When you get into the shower, just flip the switch or pull the cord and the water resumes its normal flow.  They estimate that the average house can save about 2700 gallons of water a year and up to $75 on the utility bill (this is based upon 3 showers each day in which the hot water runs for 1 minute before someone gets in the shower).

If you don't need a whole new showerhead, they sell the "lady bug adapter" which installs between your existing showerhead and shower arm.  The adapter starts at $29.95.  Their  line of showerheads starts at $39.95.  You can find them online at www.EvolveShowerHeads.com.  I do not know if they are available in stores.
